im thinking of building a powered home sub with them using that 300watt bash amp from parts express.

well i just need a push in the right direction, so iyho's would they be best in a port box(this is what i think) or a sealed? im looking for tight but earth shaking bass.

i would like to read some opinions before i jump in on this.

ive been modeling in winisd and im still learning the software and i dont really know what to look for in the graph's. ive always just plugged the t/s specs in the ti82 and told the program what tuning and went from there but never had a graph. i guess this is what i get for using a ti82 to build enclosures... anyway, thanks for any responces...

The wiki has some info on getting started with designing a subwoofer, including suggestions on where to start with a design.

There are many different opinions on vented vs sealed.

My suggestion is to start with a driver that can get decent output with a sealed box and try both sealed and vented. Both can be tight and musical, but it takes more effort to do it with a vented box.
