How do the two models compare? I don't care about bass, as I have high-quality stereo subwoofers. Waist-and-up, which model is better? These two appear to have similar size, specs, and stellar reputation.
Also wanted to add ADS L300 to the mix. Though these are less commonly available now, I may have access to a pair that is 150 miles away.

Any views on these tiny speakers? The JBL received good reviews in the pro circle, while the NHT in the audiophile circle. But no one seems to have compared them.
You have actually indicated three different models.
I, and many others, will not have compared them directly, but the JBLs are the original and probably the best.
The design has been so successful that there are many clones out there. My choice would be the Control 1 Pro,

Right, on the JBL side, we have the original Control One and later Control One Pro
on the NHT side, we have SuperZero, SuperZero XU, SuperZero 2.0, and the most recent SuperZero 2.1
I welcome all opinions on the models, whether cross brand or not.
I have the JBL Control 5 and the surrounds suffer from foam rot.
If the JBL Control 1 Pro are used, you may have to change the the surrounds.
If the JBL Control 1 Pro are used, you may have to change the the surrounds.
