JL 12w6v3 d4 wiring

hi , I have a pair of JL w6 subwoofers ..and read the iinstructions for many times , could not find a way to connect a pair of sub into 2ohm ..the jumpers only have 2ohm and 8 ohm , the input only have two terminal unlike the common sub have 4 .. anyone know how to wire in a pair for two ohm correctly..thanks.

then , I can only set the jumper to 8 ohm and wire 2 subs into 4ohm ?
what happen if i only have one sub ? only have 2 ohm or 8 ohm ? quite weird for JL..

It’s a dual 4 ohm voice coil model, how can it give anything other than 2 or 8 ohms?

It’s quite a flexible set up, especially if one has two subs as most amps these days are class D and give the most power at 2 ohms (if you have one sub) as well as 1 ohm (if you have two).

In any event, either sell the subs and buy ones with the specs you want or sell the amp and buy one that has the spec you want.

I find the JBL GTO 1400.1 to be a great amp for 4 ohm use, in my case 3 ohm, with plenty of power for two w6s.

The woofer has two voice coils and each is 4 ohms. you can wire them in series and get 8 ohms at the speaker terminals or in parallel and get 2 ohms at the speaker terminals.

I'd suggest wiring each woofer to 8 ohms and then parallel them to the amp. It's not the end of the world if you don't squeeze 100% of the power from the amp. The difference in bass output won't be significant between 1000w and 2000w. At 2000w, you'd be exceeding the power that JL recommends for the woofers, anyway.
