Hello everyone.
I would like to try using beryllium TW29B in the Kairos Kit.
The TW29B and TW29R are identical in datasheet. Is crossover correction necessary in this case? Has anyone tried beryllium TW29B instead of TW29R?
TW29B: SATORI TW29B-B / Beryllium – Sbacoustics
TW29R: SATORI TW29R-B / Fabric – Sbacoustics

Despite the similarity in specs, the TW29B looks to be some 2dB more sensitive.
That would need some correction.

...., sometimes the Be is not alway the best choice, some said for instance the FaitalWC 12 sounds better with the non Be option !
Yes they are with the neodymium motor, both of them. Where as OP's are not, neither of them. Still the same motor though. I am just giving input, I am in no position to judge it. However I considered the same as OP, but I lean towards building Satorique 1 instead
I agree that both from eyeballing the data sheet as well as my memory of past discussions, they aren't quite a drop-in replacement. Probably only an adjustment to the padding resistors, but it may still take some time to evaluate that change - subtle voicing changes like that can take a while to dial in.
I know that in Jeff's Revolution Mini / BE the non-satori SDAC and BAC tweeters were direct swaps and either could be used, and there's a part of me that thinks if it were that easy with the Satori he would have offered/recommended/suggested a Kairos BE at some point.

According the efficienty needed, the SB CAC could perhaps fit as well as the STAC 🙂
Some says the SB Be are not at the level of the SS Be !

The genesis for why this is possible with the Revolution Mini was that SB Acoustics commissioned Jeff to design a speaker with the SB29SBAC (non-Satori) BE dome; and the racetrack passive radiator before those drivers were released to market.
By chance or design, the SB29SDAC has the exact same impedance curve, and exact same SPL curve between about 1-10KHz; and hence this soft dome is a drop-in alternative (for people who weren’t willing to spend the extra cost of the BE dome, or wanted to upgrade to the BE dome later)
On the other hand, the Kairos was designed much earlier, with state of the art drivers of the time.
SB had not yet released the Satori BE dome. This model came out much later, and it’s sufficiently different in impedance and SPL through the operating range, such that a drop in replacement is not possible.
It needs a crossover redesign.
Just like SB’s own Ara BE and Rinjani BE kits- A newly developed crossover is required.

Well, you also have to consider the difference in price.

It's good. There is one project on SB29SDAC, which means that I can apply SB29BAC in it, without crossover correction.
I happen to have a pair of TW29TXN 4 Ohm tweeters with me and i am thinking of replacing the ring dome thats currently on my Kairos. The problem is Kairos xo is designed for 8 ohm tweeters. What modifications to the crossover can be made to accomodate the 4 ohm Textreme tweeters?
As far as you are going to use the non neodymium be tweeter, you will probably be good with only some minor different sound signature. If you are going with the neodymium be, then you have to redesign.
