Hi.We want to build a speaker like KEF LS60 with my friend. It is very WAF speaker and i liked the design a lot too(wife fall in love 🙂 .Altough i built a similar design and sound is very very good (i attached in picture ) i want to build like KEF because it looks better.
Which woofers can we use ? It should not be same as KEF. Maybe we can use bigger woofers to get better bass too. (but i want to make back to back woofers but i do not know which woofer will be good) Please advise.

I think 4x 6 inch side woofers will not satisfy me after listening sb34nrx75-6 ,I think need minimum 8 inch ones.
4 x Alpair 12pw fit into 140mm. I have already drawn a sketch of 4 x Peerless 830870.
Haven’t ;ppked ay others. I do know a pair of A12pw move some air.

With ref., to your design questions:Hi.We want to build a speaker like KEF LS60 with my friend. 1. Is the 1 or 2 woofers mounted on each side?
2. Is the woofer cabinet ported or sealed?
Some details are appreciated.
It’s all about volume displacement…I think 4x 6 inch side woofers will not satisfy me after listening sb34nrx75-6 ,I think need minimum 8 inch ones.
Google and this site are your friends. Four Dayton Audio LW150 (not real subwoofers but nice and shallow) will do about 100dB at 40Hz at 1m. Four Tang Band W6-1139, only slightly bigger, will do about 105dB at 30Hz. About what the SB34 can do.
Hi.Do we connect back to back woofers with same polarity? positive to positive? Does this wiring reduce spl efficiency at same power? (i am not writing about results in same voltage) How should we connect the woofers to eachother?
Glue them together. Their cones should both go outwards meaning that the + from the amp should be connected to the red marked tab on both bass speakers.

There is no reason as long as the driver are within the 1/4 ( at most 1/3) center to center spacing of cut off frequency wavelength.
Same rules as typical driver location on face plate.

umut1001 asked about SPL, (I don't want to take that literally until I'm sure that's what was meant, however..) of course you can get +6dB summation with one speaker in each corner of the room.. 1/4 wavelength doesn't come into it.
Oh i think i remember. If they are close enough to eachother ,vas and spl doubles right? So volume should be doubled for bass response
You won't have me confused this time Allen! 😉
For a couple of drivers: both drivers if located within 1/4 wavelength are considered as 1 source of emmission ( there is acoustic coupling at work, you can stretch the ratio to 1/3rd wl). If they are located back to back or on the same face doesn't matter as long as Ka is low enough ( below 1, or iow as long as the driver doesn't operate in a range where it start to be directive).
Spl will growth from the surface doubling ( +3db) and if connected electrically in // (another +3db eg: from 8r to 4r). If series connected there is no 'electrical gain', so spl= the same for one driver but the series compund driver will accept more power overall (than a single unit).
If you use 4 woofers you'll probably need serial/paralell combination ( 2 group of series connected drivers then paraleled). Spl capability will gain up to 9db iirc).
