I have the newer 1ohm Stable versions of the CXA line amplifiers. This the Monoblock 46cxa8001. Powers up green Led, No audio present at speaker terminal. Measured 1.47vdc across speaker terminals. It been awhile since I've repaired these, need some help to rimind me of the trouble shooting steps.
Lets start with rails and +/-17 volts as I described in your previous thread.
KICKER 46CXA8001 Strange Audio Up and down freq.

Rail voltage is present at +-59v from main ground. +-17v present as well at both Q18-Q19, And the opamps. Rail voltage is across speaker terminals. So SO failed outputs or driver ic?

Check Q19 & 20-IRFB4115,Q1 & Q2-C2045E,IC4-IRS20957. You will want to check between all pins of Q1.Q2 and IC4 with an ohmmeter.
There may be a shorted SM capacitor around IC4.
You may have to replace outputs, drivers and IC4.

Ok so i replaced the output transistors and ic4 Amplifier now has audio. Same choppy audio. Papazbill check pm

This unit has a choppy audio sound and on high input a muffled muddy audio sound. i get a clean sine wave on other amplifiers, so i ruled out hardware. I almost wan t to say bad gain potentiometer, IT also make a loud burp when powering off the unit.
Hi Robert, Yes, I can hear both 40hz and 50hz. Very low level, noisey, muffled sound. The fact that the amp pops when you turn off amp suggests a muting problem. I want you to try one thing first. Do you have the Remote Bass Controller and cable? If so try using it to see if that allows a audible tone through the speaker.
Next thing is to check Q3 with an Ohmmeter and DC voltages all around the accompanying resistors. Both -28volts and Battery voltage +VB drives the circuit. There is a chance Q3 doesn't exist. If so I will need to know exactly what version, you have.

I don't beleive I have a remote controller. It's does come with the units new? If not then I do not have one.

The remote controller for the CXA are sold seperately. If you have a Kicker dealer or BestBuy nearby, they would have one to sell. Of course Ebay or other would be the cheaper option.
