Guys I need help! I don't know what I'm doing even though I'm watching videos etc. Ok, 2015 Silverado 1500. 2 hs10s. Powered separately but to battery, remote both together, stock deck with a aftermarket device I plug into deck then plug deck into device. Device has two rca jacks, line out converter to left and right subs. Tonight I tried the right sub tying into rearspeaker wire. It sound horrible. Some people say I need a aftermarket deck? I give up! Lol
Probably need to play with the input level sensitivity setting
and overall gain of the amplifier.
Have info from kicker website
but be good to know how the line level convertor
you have works.
Or likewise if your just gonna use the rear speaker
outputs to provide signal to the sub.
The voltage would be speaker level.
So likely use the high level. On the kicker.
By switching input selector to high.
Then fine tune by adjusting gain.
Start with low bass boost setting
start at about 80 Hz for crossover.
set your deck volume at average listening
and adjust gain of the amp for sub level you want.
You also have further control with the " fader"
but just set fader front/ rear in the middle on deck.
but if you fade to rear the sub level will go up.
since the signal is coming from rear signal.
So you can also somewhat control the sub level
once set by using the front / rear fader.

likely a settings thing.
Line level convertor would provide
lower signal around 1 volt
likely 600 to 800mv
So you'd set the input selector
to low.
But if you just using speaker level
signal. be higher voltage 2.8 volts
or more.
Then you'd use high input selector.
So we dont know if the signals too hot
and you have distortion. Or signal is very
low and you have distortion also from
cranking the amp gain.
either way, once input sensitivity is correct.
adjust the gain on the amp for decent level.
otherwise play with crossover frequency.
maybe it was set too low / high.
Start high around 80 to 100 Hz
then come down to your liking.
otherwise if it sounds weird and missing bass.
flip phase switch. amp has switch to do that.
