Linn's new approach for a DC motor control unit is here:
Linn — Power Supplies
By chance I discover this site to upgrade old ones (looks very interesting - at least at first glance):
LP12 20/20 — The Funk Firm
Any experiences ?

Chassis mounting motor -as per your second link .
I took apart my Dais turntable to check this , the motor is fully enclosed -very high quality ( looks German ) and zero vibration, it is attached to the bottom chassis via a neoprene pad and the belt isn't flat but round able to adjust to various forces without causing a dragging or pulling action on the inner platter .
It does have one flaw though its up against a high inertia-(very heavy platter ) so starting sometimes needs a help .
