Nope that's me.
Kevin utterly LOVES his music, if you meet him at a show it's fun, he is transfixed by the music, I do not think it's showmanship either.
His horn speakers are the only ones that I have heard that actually sound pretty good (without major vices) to my ears.
Auditorium is a nice box speaker. 🙂

I just got this old Avatar and initial impression in my friend's room with Audio research (sp 16 and classic 120 amps) amplifications were quite bad😀 boxy , colored , closed in sound with overemphasized midbass and lack of any lower bass. HF was grainy and nothing like a Scan-Speak tweeter I ever heard. That's a very promising sign and I look forward to try more civilized setup in my room .

Wow, not good then?
Auditorium will not give you powerful bass. I found the Auditorium a smooth and easy speaker. The Avatar's are supposed to be better. I have heard these a few times at shows, the Auditorium has sounded better at home but unfair to make a comparison in a hotel filled with thousands of electronics.
The scan-speak should be both smoother and more detailed.

Maybe their balance better suits small British homes?
Remember they are a modest size speaker with significant real world sensitivity, really deep and powerful bass isn't on the menu, this is always the trade off when a speaker is this small, sensitive and easy to drive. I did not find them lacking though, slightly dry but immediate sound typical of easy drive, good quality paper cone designs.

The balance is very easy on the ear, very natural, however I found that they sound a little strained when pushed really hard.
One point I noted kevin tended to seperate them out very far, the centre image was rather weak this way.

Partner them well and I think you have one of the most nicely voiced box speakers out there.

This is my opinion too.We tried them in way to big of a room and too far from walls and I was actually glad they sounded like they sounded because my friend got a speaker fewer and would nag me to trade with him if they sounded any better. I heard them years ago in RMAF in Denver and they sounded really nice and nothing like in Audio Research setup. I will have Exposure /LV summer and tube/LV winter setup to get me trough when I will finally be abble to assemble a gigantic horn system. I received answer from LV folks and what a nice folks they really are. They recommended stepping up to IBX-R2 but at over $6k it's not happening in this life.
I NEED EXPOSURE VII PREAMP CHEAP !!!!!

The best sound I ever heard from them was with a Border Patrol psu Audio innovations tube amp. Unfortunately my Dad heard them with this combo and then decided to keep them!!! 😀
Also they sound very nice on the single ended BP amp's and maybe to a lesser degree with their push pull 20w amp.

Fortunately I have built a significantly superior speaker now. Instead I wish the Auditoriums could be as good as the Linkwitz Pluto 2.1's!
That said I did not have to build the Auditoriums, so you pays ya money.....
