Loth X polaris design

a quick question, does anyone know what is the horn design of a Lothx X polaris

Back horn. It is one of the more successful cabs Loth-X came up with for the Stamm driver.

They did a lot of work on that cabinet to optimize the size of the compression chamber behind the driver.

If you are looking for plans, I don't think anybody has that.

thanks for the response, yes I figured as much I listened the Polaris at a friends and they are a marevelous and would be my ideal speaker.. the only other speakers that satisfying was the lowther Big Fun Horn had but they i had but they were too large to keep.

I am looking to build something that would be similar to the sound of the Polaris

Best bet is to attempt to track down Stefan Stamm, designer of the boxes and the drivers. I have seen any mention of him for years but I am sure he is out there somewhere, although not to my knowledge in the audio business (smart man).

The Loth X cabinets were made via CNC, contracted out to a large high tech facility in Malaysia with whom they had special inside connections, and I never saw a carpentry blueprint of any type while associated with them.

Loth X Troubadour Plan

I "surveyed" my own pair of Loth X Troubadour cabinets and I attach the results. I understand the Polaris cabinets have two chambers side by side, but perhaps someone else can confirm. I believe the plan dimensions are very accurate, however, attention will need to be paid to materials, glue and general process. I understand Loth X made many, possibly around 100 mock-ups of this and/or the Polaris when in devlpt. Good luck.

Hi Guys! Stumbled upon this thread and happened to plan a Loth-X clone too to partner with my Ayon Firestorm amp. Could not be more on time!

Thanks for the plans Paul, they are most helpfull! Have to tweak the back chamber to the right volume for FA22RCZ/F8 exotic but it might work out pretty well. AER MB1 or Voxativ AC-1 might be a better option, but are way out of league...

I rather think you'll be better off using the Seas unit (which?) in something designed for it, rather than attempting to stuff it into a random enclosure & hoping for the best. In both cases, but particularly the Exotic, I suspect it'll need a bigger box than the LothX indicated above.

Well, I just simulate the Loth-X horn using Martin J. King's approach or I will use AJ-Horn. No random stuffing here! We'll see... No rocket science, only another folding approach which I think suits my room better and I like the size of its footprint.

WOW.. thanks very much for these plans, I had given up on this idea and thought I may just have to save up and find a pair.
I will look at these plans later today, I wonder how different it is to the Polaris Cabinet
