Hello!
I would like to ask if you happen to know what loudspeaker modeling software is the industry standard nowadays.
I can see that some years ago it was Linearx LEAP, but I'm not sure it's still the case since it hasn't even been updated to the new Windows versions of 7/8/10. Their CRT displays at the startup don't look up to date too😉.
Do loudspeaker companies still use it with some Win XP emulators or some alternative, high accuracy software has been released in the meantime?
I'm mostly interested in what is used for the in-depth enclosure design work taking into the account diffraction effects. Perhaps there's other software with that (hopefully) properly working diffraction simulation?
I would appreciate your answers even if you're not sure😉.
Thank you!
Michal

My impression is that a lot of professional designers use Comsol nowadays, but I could be wrong.
Are any professional designers using SoundEasy? Its features seems to me to place it in a similar category as LEAP, though I have no experience with LEAP.

Thank you very much for you answers.
@mpoz: I use SE, but Leap EnclosureShop diffraction modelling seems to be more powerful.
Does anyone happen to know if Linearx comapany still exist? I have hard times receiving any respond to my e-mails from them or trying to buy their products through the local distributor.
Does anyone use ABEC3? Is it better in terms of 3D enclosure shape influence modelling including diffraction than the Leap EnclosureShop?
Thank you!

What is the approximate price of Comsol software modules required for diffraction modeling? It looks like affordable for big companies only...
Nevermind the last question, I've already found out it's not affordable for the ordinary man in the street 😉
ABEC is a powerful tool for analyzing anything with a boundary; e.g. a speaker enclosure or a room, ampitheater (although that would take a long time to model). We use it to model small room low frequency response.
Does anyone have SoundEasy in the NY area and would not mind showing me? I could offer some ABEC assistance.
I Hope you don't mind 3D modeling in a text file!

I'm in Los Angeles but will probably be in NY for a week or so in April. If you haven't found what you need by then, I'd love to check out ABEC and show you around SoundEasy.
I would recommend against soundeasy. While it appears to have many functions, it is a total disaster to use. THe author has claimed that this is because I am too stupid to use it. This is not the type of person you want to be giving your hard earned money.
Hi guys and specialy Bostarob.
Will see I´m so interested to learn ABEC, nowadays I have some experience with leap.
But to design horns and diffusers i would like learn more about ABEC.
Bostarob if you now how works ABEC i can pay you for a special assitance to learn ABEC.
Let me know if you are interested, best regards.
