Any recommendations for low cost prototype PCB fabricators in the UK ?
I have used Ragworm a couple of times, but they are hopelessly amateurish and their website seems permanently broken. Their choice of orange solder resist is odd too - it makes the silk screen illegible.
Quite cheap though (pay peanuts - get monkeys !)

Alternatively are there agents for the Chinese fabs who take the pain of overseas payment and dealing with customs away from you?
I stopped using UK pcb houses when I found I could get the same pcb's for a third of the price in China.
I get mine from China PCB Prototype & Fabrication Manufacturer - PCB Prototype the Easy Way. They take 2 weeks from order to pcb's through the letterbox and they are very cheap. They are very high quality. They take me solder sucking them so they must be good.
There website is great for getting quotes, then once you upload your gerber files they keep you up to date on the production status.

I've been very happy with pcbcart and several of my friends use them as well. They are much less expensive than any U.S. option and are completely comparable in quality for the sort of things I do.

The prices are amazing - For 5 boards, including shipping, the price is about half what I recently paid Ragworm (UK) for 2 boards.
