Marantz PMD201

I am working with a Marantz cassette recorder Model PMD201 The playback speed starts out too slow but eventually picks up a bit after the unit runs awhile. After thorough cleaning and replacing belts to no avail I found that the top bering on the motor is shot. Marantz wants about 40 bucks for the thing. I did some searching on the net looking for an alternative but came up empty handed. The motor is made by
Matsushita / Panasonic. Anyone know where a motor could be had without going to Marantz? Details on the motor below..

Thanks

Diameter 23mm
Height 20 mm (not including shaft)

Hi Glen,
The motor is still available??! Cool.

A couple questions then. Do you think you can disassemble the motor and get it back together? Brushes might be shot too now.

How much is your time worth?

Is the machine worth it?

Hi Glen,
Really??! I did warranty service on those a long, long time ago. I didn't expect it to be a current model still. I imagine they must have changed a bit over the years.

That model has got to be over 10 years and running. The tooling has paid for itself many times over now (either that or they have a warehouse full still 😉 ).
