I came up with a Really nice looking Marantz SR 4200 receiver. after hooking it up I noticed a static noise coming from the speakers. This seems to get worse as it warms up. any educated guesses.

Yes. It helped. The surround selector is a rotary switch as well and it is clean. It was very full of dust and grime so that was the first thing I tried.
It acts weird when it starts doing this the channels start cutting out and there is noise that sounds like static.
