McIntosh MC4000 M - On Sale Ebay

They usually go for big bucks, hope you have your accountant on speed dial lol. Electronically they are no different from any of the other MC series car amps made by Mc/Clarion back then, some had meters some didn't. The build quality on them is very good as you would expect, but some things need addressed IMO if it's going to be used on a regular basis. For one the STK amplifier chips never had any heat sinks on them, and as a result they get very hot. I have an MC431 here that blew one up, and I had to resort to a chinese copy because replacements aren't made anymore. But the new one worked in the circuit, so I added a small aluminum heat sink and it's playing to this day.

The bulbs that illuminate the meters can go bad, I'd recommend replacement with a long lasting LED so it doesn't happen again. Other than that the sound quality is really quite good, and there's little chance of blowing a driver with the power guard feature. Not sure I'd pay the price of admission if I had to do it again, I'm just glad I got a good deal on mine lol.

It's worth what you're willing to pay for it...
