Hello to Everyone,
Can someone help me to do some upgrading stuff... my meridian DAC 20-bit I want to upgrade this to 24 bit actually I bought this 3years back a good second hand (can't afford a new one) is someone did this before???? and is it easy to find a chips ?? don't want to ask this to meridian dealer for sure they gonna slap me in my face , i do really appreciate it

Have you managed to get inside the unit?
If i remember correctly mine was pretty well built (563.20) and didn't seem that easy to get into.
I don't know how Meridian do the upgrade and i can't help you with any specifics. But i'm guessing the DAC is either on a separate daughter board in which case you'll want to figure out the I/O, or it's a chip swap out for a pin compatible item. If possible it might be a nice idea to use a totally different DAC board, like a modded item from eBay, and feed it into the Meridian Analogue section.

The more experienced folk here will probably be able to identify where the DAC chip is. To me it looks like Meridian might actually be swapping out the entire board when you upgrade.
