Have had this broken MTX 2300X for years, it sounded pretty good when it was working. I am 99% sure that the only problem is that the feet have broken off the bottom of the RCA jacks, i can see they're broken & i remember that if i pushed the jack in to make the leads connect, the amp would work. I would like to replace the jack if possible, i thought about trying to solder it back into place but i don't think it would hold too long. Has anyone done this repair that could help me as to where to start? I am relatively new to electronic repair but i have soldering tools & am willing to learn. Also had been looking for a service manual online, with no luck - that would be a great asset right? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
That was sort of what i was thinking of doing - but forgive my ignorance - i am unsure how to properly remove the jacks, i can tell by the photo they are upside down & obviously removed, & it looks like soldering a piece of wire from the jack to the board? i have obviously not yet removed the jacks, just the whole board from the case.
if i were to guess, i would say it looks like i can just break off those metal supports holding the jack to the board? there are the plastic fasteners that clip into the holes on the board so that would hold the jack in place, but then would i re-solder the metal supports together?
Or, the proper way to do it would be to heat up the solder points of the metal supports underneath the board to remove them in tact? then re-solder once repair is complete? can you tell i'm new at this?

You don't break anything. You desolder the remaining two terminals and remove the RCA jack.
Yes, use desoldering braid, available in any parts shop. When placed against the solder joint and heated, it absorbs the solder.
You need the mechanical strength of those metal posts to prevent further breakage.

thanks guys so much for the quick replies, i appreciate it. i will let you know how it goes once i get the braid. another question though, i think i lost the screws for this amp, would anyone happen to know what size they might be? i would think a service manual might list that info, otherwise ill have to just try & fit them at a hardware store or something... i can't find any of the mounting screws, inside or out.
The screws in the bottom of the covers are likely #6-32. The one in the RCA jack (if it's not stripped) is a #4-40 or 3mm. I don't know what the ones in the fuse holders are.
I am constantly on the lookout for service manuals and schematic diagrams and I have never seen a service manual for any MTX amplifier. If they exist, they're well protected.

The ones for the fuse panel are a PITA, I just use a small torx bit that fit tightly inside.
I added panel mount RCA's to three 2300's and I have two good RCA jacks, I can give you one if needed. Or you can do as I did and replace them with panel mount, I went with Neutrik/Rean jacks.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
