MTX 6500D Schematic?

Hey guys-
So I had my amp blow. There is a constant 60V on output with no signal on the input. I just power it up and I have 60V on output. I started by replacing the FET's but this did not solve my problem. Does anyone have any ideas? I've contacted MTX and they, of course, won't give me a schematic. I've started tracing the board and drawing a schematic but I figured I'd ask here too.

Thanks
Kyle

Yes, that sounds like a hard fail (exceeding SOAR limits) which typically is pretty catastrophic. My process in these cases is to take out all actives devices and test each individually. You'll probably find the drivers and even the VAS stage are shot.

Take photo's before you start and note where each tranny goes. Good luck!

BTW - I deleted the duplicate thread

The amp is very similar to some of the sony amps. If you want a sony service manual, email me.

When the outputs fail, the highlighted components in the attached file are the ones that most commonly fail.

Perry-
Thank you for the picture. Those were most the parts I was looking at. I know the resistor bank is good. (the 6, 220 ohm resistors). I do not know what the part numbers are on the rest of the circled parts. The packages are labeled but the labels do not bring back relevant search results.

thanks

Perry-
That's the one. But I did some deeper testing of all the SMD transistors and it seems that atleast 7 of them blew and without a schematic, this project is going to be abandoned and I'll just design my own amp. 🙁
