NAD 7255PE 220 V On/Off switch replacment

The receiver is ~40 years old so you won't find any new spare parts with catalog numbers for a specific model receiver like this NAD. There are still general purpose, 2 pole mains rated slider switches available from electronic component sellers globally but they are likely smaller overall and you need to check the dimensions, pin spacing etc. to determine for yourself whether they will fit or there is a need for extra contacts, as on some other remote controllable NAD models.

According to some repairer forums and Ebay parts sellers, the switch does have a separate section for switching alternately between between remote and local control. If that's the case, this won't be easy to replace and I think it would be better to repair it, assuming you have some skills there or a friend who can at least guide you through the process. Some NAD power switches were quite complex and will need to be rebuilt properly unless you can find a donor wreck amp. that still has a working switch in good condition or perhaps the metal contacts can be replaced with unused ones.

U can most probably look for this type
On Ali express or ebay.

Self locking switch.
This type are used in most of the older nads.
Can be found in some older pc cabinets, at towers..

7225 has an simple alternate push action, single pole switch on the front panel and connected with brown/blue leads. That could be replaced by any of several available from Chinese parts sellers. 7255PE PCB layout diagram shows it was mounted on the PCB and may be a more complex 2 x 2-pole, 2 section switch to manage the remote switching as well. Since there were several versions, I think it will be difficult to be certain which type is required without the OP's visual inspection.

If the OP would kindly open the case, look at the switch and describe what is there, where it is mounted and how connected, how many pins etc. in detail, it might save a lot of guesswork.

See the TV parts section too, some were common in CRT TVs, plain as well as those with an extra block for remote.
In the in position, a set of auxiliary contacts would tell the unit the power switch was on.

My advice is to keep the mains off when not in use, saves power, and the unit surge damage.

Most probably self locking on /off switch... Not affecting remote as I can see. Unlike the 3400, 7600 that controls the ac power on /off with remote or non latching pwr switch, due to separate std by pwr supply activate main power with relay...
