Any leads on a repair/service manual, NOT users or owners manual for a Bowers & Wilkins DM605 S2 plate amp would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for the prompt reply, Pete.
My bad for not being more specific. I have the manual you provided the link for. And B&W does indeed call it a service manual. It even has the component list and schematics. But it is not a repair manual. The speaker’s built-in plate amp has 90+ test points so a friend also with a pair of these terrific speakers and I are assuming a true repair manual of some kind likely exists. The “service” manual has no troubleshooting or test point values.
Appreciate the effort!

I usually point people at:
B&W Group North America Service & Support - Home
It's under 600 series 2.
But the same manual I think. No test point values. It's a simple enough speaker. Built in amp and a regular two-way crossover. So I expect you could run it off a regular amp or replacement plate amp with little effort.
But if you havea working one, and it's a lot of work, you could probably compare the working TP voltages with the broken one. I don't know. Worth checking fuses first, of course. Power supply always likely to blow.

The DM604 S2 is a near clone of this speaker, only passive on the parallel wired basses.
The tweeter and mid are the same. A3988 and A3993.
The DM605 S2 uses active A4009 basses.
The DM 604 S2 uses A3994 basses. Which you would guess are each 8 ohms on a 4 element bass filter.
Mid and tweeter crossovers are slightly different on the two models. But that may not matter much.
That's what I know.

Thanks all. My buddy and I have four working speakers thanks to some relatively simple repairs. Obvious opamp and voltage regulator failures. And we each were lucky to find two used amps for sale one working, one easily repaired to keep for some spare parts that are no longer available.
Of the six plate amps we own, 5 have a slight 60/120hz hum and one is completely silent. We have replaced the filter caps and the many small signal caps, several resistors out of spec and compared test point values but still can’t find the culprit. (Maybe the silent one is broken! 😉
We just figure the factory, which no longer repairs this unit, probably has a repair manual with troubleshooting and repair matrix, and that’s what we are looking for. No big deal as the hum is barely perceptible with no signal, and the speakers perform admirably.
