I'm wanting to find a guide on this. I was just looking for how to use a target EQ curve, but any good information is welcome.
Not really a guide here, but some advices. 🙂
Of course the player sounds very good (do you have it on Android?), but it doesn't shine for the rationality and ease of use of its settings.
Good to know that the default ones are good enough for an "average" user, but you can only get used to them by trying and trying again.
I use Neutron in the car through a Bluetooth connection and don't even touch the equalizer.
However, since when you arrive at a settings configuration that satisfies you, I think the best advice I can give you is to learn how to perform a backup (and a restore) of the "/NeutronMP" folder, which is Neutron's most important folder in this regard.
But just as the settings it doesn't seem to be too easy to handle in some systems.
On my Android 13 it is currently located in the root of the phone's main memory, but it is not the same for any device to be able to reach it.
I provide the following two links that you will definitely find interesting.
https://neutroncode.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2316
https://neutroncode.com/faq/31-q-how-to-avoid-loosing-my-settings
Another good piece of advice comes from the developer himself and it seems to be to install a "generic" version of Neutron just as a workaround to everything that users have asked for and not yet obtained to date.

Short answer you need to create an eq that adjusts the existing measured response of your headphones /speakers by an amount that matches your intended target curve.
So you need a measured response and an Intended target response. If you just want to eq to flat it's a little easier, less math, but essentially the same.
What are you trying to eq?

I am EQing earbuds. I have raw response curves and I'm hoping the basic EQ will be straightforward. I'd be more confident if I could set the inverse curve as an overlay. Then I'll have to assess that in a noisy environment.
Yes, thanks. I can access this.the "/NeutronMP" folder

Or just use the values on auto-eq app. That's what I used for my fiio fh9 and Samsung buds 2 with neutron.
