Hi, new here and quite the newbie. Made a couple of boxes, ideal for small bedroom or kitchen, using 15w+15w bluetooth amp boards with cheap full-range speakers. Not done much else.
Thought I'd go a bit bigger and bought a pair of cheap Peiying 60w 4ohm. Was a bit of an impulse buy TBH. Probably completely wrong type of speaker for my project.
Anyway, I've bought them so may as well use them. The box will be made from Oak - already made the front panel:
Inner dimensions of the box will be 370mm x 126mm. Haven't yet decided on the depth. Hoping you guys can give me some advice here.
I've made acrylic spacers for the speakers. They are for the blue 5v LEDs that will light up the cone area. There will also be a blue angel switch in the centre used to power on the amp.
I need a cheap amp, 12v-24v from ebay, preferably with bluetooth built in. I don't expect wonders or amazing sound, but would be grateful for any recommendation and advice from you guys.
Thanks and cheers,
Ryedo

Sure Electronics' webstore 2 x 50 Watt 4 Ohm Class D Audio Amplifier with Bluetooth 4.0 APT-X - JAB2-50 (Can also be found on ebay?)
With laptop power supply (19-24v) (4-5A)

Thanks zerokelvin99. Those look decent for the money. Can't find the JAB2-50 with BT on ebay UK though, so may order direct if I can't find anything a little cheaper.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Recently, I've noticed this one.
TPA3118 2*30W Digital Bluetooth Audio Receiver Dual Stereo Power Amplifier Board | eBay
Though I'm not aware of anyone having used it.

Yes, they might need a fix if noise is a concern:

Cheers both. I was considering those. They look similar to these I use for my other speakers. Don't sound too bad, although they do have similar problems to the ones doctormod fixed on the 3116. Modding them would be a little too fiddly for me🙁
Liking the one zerokelvin mentioned, but was looking at this. I'm just unsure. What you guys think?

Airmail from Sure is around 10 days from China.
It's more expensive, but that depends mainly if you want APT-x. I have one of the above and am happy with it, good quality board.
Also, make sure you have a good heatsink if loading at 4R. TPA3116 can get hot with some of the small ones.
Overheating heatsinks (at 24v, 4R) include the YJ board in my experience:

If they have CSR8630 or CSR8635, they don't have APT-X. Beside this, even MP3/AAC direct stream isn't enabled by default on these boards. (But can be enabled with a proper programmer)
Ah okay - that's interesting!
I'll try and connect to it this weekend, I thought it was recognised as apt-x by my phone ...

Enabling APT-X on the 8630/8635 via spi-programmer bricked the module, booting up fails. But MP3 + AAC direct is possible.
Thanks for the input guys. The Sure is definitely on my list. May buy a couple of really cheap 50x50w with BT, too; just to see what they're like. Any more recommendations, please post them. Like I say, I'm pretty much a complete noob with all this stuff, so any tips for the box, to help get the best sound out of it, please post too.
I'll probably update this thread as things progress. Thanks again for the help. Cheers 🙂

The Sure 2 x 50 Watt arrived. Sounds pretty good, but there does seems to be a little whistling feedback noise when music isn't playing; although you have to be kind of close to hear it. Good looking board, but for the money would have expected a little better.
Bought two cheapo amps too: a shabby looking £10 2 x 50 with BT and mic. And one with BT, Radio, Remote, USB, mains power and alternative 12v DC built in. Think it's 2 x 25 watt. Was only £7 so not much to lose. The £10 one sounds OK. Has a nice ring-tone when receiving calls on mobile. Though it has low-level static noise when music isn't playing. Tested the £7 one with a pair of 15w full-range and it sounded great. Not sure how they'll perform over time, but I'll have some fun with them.
Just needing the angel switch and step-down for the 5v LEDs to arrive. Will post pics when done🙂
