Nichicon VZ Series, what do you think?

I couldn't find the ESR for this series, they say it has high ripple.

I chose this series because its the only one that covers my whole amp
without taking caps from a different series or brand.

It's for my amp (all caps except signal path and ceramics).

I wanted the Elna Silmic II series but it doesn't have a 330uf 63v
and 0.22uf 10v caps and i don't want to have my whole amp with
one series except for two caps from another brand.

What do you recommend? does it really matter if it's not in the signal path?
Does the Nichicon VZ series has low ESR?

Hi RG12

there is a bad story here before about nichicon caps view years ago
they didnt work better

but it is just an info from some diy, maybe there an increase now
to know the truth you can try to desolder the old caps & solder them

as my exp in "muse" KG, KZ, FG, FW, FX, ES they got a little bit noise,
dry & colouration.

All the thing back to your taste, all decision is yours now

I prefer Panasonic FC, FM, ED and TS-ED Aluminum electrolytic capacitors. They have low ESR and have worked everywhere I have used them as power supply filter caps or as cathode bypass caps. I haven't tried them in signal path applications. You can find a wide range of them at Digi-Key.

Thanks guys, i ordered panasonic fc, elna cerafine and elna silmic ii for electrolyts and it is all planned out carefully.

Also for the signal path i ordered mundorf mkp series caps (metalized polypropylene).

I will let you all know once i get the stuff and finish the whole modding process and will upload detailed process pics and results.

I have ordered Nichicon VZ series for Pioneer SA7800 Filter caps, On filter cap the amplifier had its original Elna capacitors (Bulged), VZ series was 3times cheaper than the LG series. The original caps were 8000uF but i only found 3300uf 50V for filter (i live in serbia and i didnt wanted to pay so much on delivery, so i ordered parts at the best local store : "mgeletronic.rs") it still better than cheapish Samwha capacitors. Also if were at the amplifiers, i just keeping the SA7800's original amplifier board for later investigation and rebuild, due its output transistors are blown, m200 package of 2sc2525 and 2sa1075, basicly you cannot get those anymore. And i will have to work arround to fix that amplifier board, for the SA7800. Im building custom diy quasi complementary amplifier. For that amplifier, 2x of 3300uf at parallel and 2x of series will be enough. The final capacitance is still 3300uf. Will be enough. I have hope in VZ series of capacitors, due i have tested samwha caps (2200uf 63v only one) in a 45V transformer, it was loaded about 35watt to my prototype quasi complementary amplifier, on the speaker, i didnt heard buzzing sound, but the overal sound quality wasnt too good so far. I dont recommend Samwha caps for Audio use that i can tell 100% sure.
