I have a pair of this 3d shutter glasses for my computer which make real 3d for any pc game using your crt monitor which is great but the 3d glasses dont work in LCD monitors because the refresh rate is to slow.
The Nvidia software which you use with the glasses also has an option to use red/green 3d glasses instead of the shutter glasses.
Has anyone tried this software with their projector yet? it must look amazing! like a mini IMAX! lol... only in grayscale.
i havent finished my projector yet sp cant try it.
p.s. you dont need shutter eye glasses to use the nvidia 3dglasses software. Just download it from their website and try with red/green glasses on any pc game.

hhmm, a lot of people said their edimensional glasses either gives very poor results or simply doesn't work on LCD monitors.
I guess basic intuition tells if you use a LCD monitor to project the image, it wouldn't work on 3d glasses?
I'm very curious about this myself as I want to build a projector and be able to use it for 3d gaming.
You should go to this forum, which is dedicated to stereo video.

anaglyph stereovision
The default combination with the nvidia anaglyph settings is red and cyan. Apparently this gives a better rendering of color. I have tried this on my crt monitor with a couple of different kinds of glasses, a cheap paper pair and a fairly good regular pair. You have to do a good amount of fine tuning. You need to get the colors to match the glasses well or you will have ghosting problems. The default settings are based on the shutter glasses which if memory serves, worked well but with color based glasses the defaults don't work that well. On the nVidia site there is a complex set of instructions for their stereovision that you can download. The anaglyph should work with lcd as well as crt with some tweaking. As was said the refresh on a lcd is usually far too low to be able to use shutter glasses without getting a headache from the flickering. I will load up the older driver on my system in the next few days and try it with my beat up old boxlight projector. Since I've done some tinkering with it negative results should not be taken too seriously. If someone else out there with a pair of even the cheap glasses could try this with their diy pj and let us know how that worked, it would be great. You can likely find a pair of these for about $1 if you live in a fairly large city. Just think of the stores that sell odd things, that's where you have the best chance. I tried comic book shops but unless they have an older specialty book you're out of luck because the 3d comic phase is apparently over.
