OMG!! Anyone purchased large diameter PVC fittings lately?

Went online to purchase a couple of 8" and 10" basic PVC sched 40 elbows. The first two sites I landed on I was CONVINCED were priced per 10 pieces. I could not figure out how to select just one so I went on. After three more sites, including Home Depot, I discovered that these prices were not for 10.. but for ONE. Just one fitting. $300 to $500 dollars!!!!! Holy crap!

Been that way for maybe two years. Glad I do not need much as far as PVC or ABS.

An amusing thing happened during our last snow storm. A piece of 20 foot 3 inch SCH 40 PVC pipe feel off a truck and into the street near my house.
It was hard to notice in the snow and was causing traffic problems. I walked across the street and took it home. It was not until later that I realized I just got luckier than the time a picked up a 100 dollar bill on the side of the street in San Fransisco. Everyone else passed by the bill but I was raised on a cattle farm. I am going to notice something green in my path.

Large elbows have always been eye-opening.

But note that RickRay linked to "tight" elbows which are bad plumbing (used in smaller sizes for lawn furniture).

OK-flow 6" elbow, $35 (9 years ago I paid $28):

6" rubber couplings, $15.49 (was $13.87 years back):

6" valves (to divert my ditching) cost hundreds.

Price will go about as CUBE of dimension. So if a 6" ell is $35, we expect a 10" to be $162 for materials, and often double that because this is all special-order and nobody wants to break a carton just for your one elbow.
