I have a orion extreme 800w amplifier about 10 years old. Was in great working condition until it sat for awhile and now when i recently tried to install it it was making some wierd high pitched sounds. The installer said when those amps sit for awhile the capaciters inside drain. What kinda repairs would i need to do or check? Amp doesnt smoke at all/
If you touch the one side of the rca to that input it makes a funny sound. Other then that it i didnt here anything. The person installing said that orion amps tend to go bad if sat too long. Didnt know there was an experation date. Turned on fine but occosional dist. Didnt know if it was a resistor or capacitor
The sound is coming from the speakers. The rca is connected. The sound only happens when adjusting the gains and if you take one side of the rca's off and touch the other side.
if you take one side of the rca's off and touch the other side.
What does that mean?
If the RCAs are properly connected, does it make the noise?
Does moving the RCAs at the jacks make a difference?
