I saw a guy using one of these multimeters to check the compression and fuel pump on a car. He used it with the "Fuse Buddy" https://www.amazon.com/307M-Fuse-Bu...6K6GFEJAMCT&psc=1&refRID=2629YWMRV6K6GFEJAMCT and current probe https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...GDVWM&linkId=dc922fa3bb981e4a4e1b19463fee3bc8 and it was genius.
I could use one of these in my electronic adventures too. I need an oscilloscope (better than this but it will do). I'm thinking about pulling the trigger. I work on cars and this will save me time and effort.
Here's the video. The guy is a character but he's smart and clever.

So I was wondering if anyone has experience with a product like this, and if there are maybe better affordable alternatives. To me, a compact and inexpensive oscilloscope would be very handy.
Thanks.

There's no graticule on the scope so you can't read frequency or voltage. Basically you can see the wave shape and that's it.
I have a Fluke 92 scope meter that I bought at a surplus sale. I could be persuaded to part with it if you're interested. I've used it for floating measurements. It runs on C-size batteries. I do have the charger for it, but it's dead. I kept it so I could put the cord on an SMPS.

It displays voltage and frequency as numbers beside the display according to the pictures.
This one costs more but should work better. There's a basic graticule, higher sampling rate, and better specs over all.

Thanks Tom.
I have a battery/charging system tester that displays the alternator output waveform. You can tell a whole lot real fast just by looking at the waveform.
In the bigger scope of things, I really need a dual trace 100 mHz scope. But it's not exactly on my short list and I'd have to make room for it.

That looks really nice. Thank you.
I have one of these and its remarably useful. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087TBFB3K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 USB charging 100 MHz 2 channels. it doesn't really replace a more serious scope BUT battery power 2 traces and a good easy to read screen is great. And it is 100 MHz.
This is a nuce current probe: https://www.amazon.com/Hantek-Trans...9Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= Won't replace my Tek but its a really useful form factor and really reasonably priced. https://www.amazon.com/Hantek-Trans...9Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= 20 KHz makes it useful for audio. Not so much for switching supplies etc.

That scope may have been dedicated specifically to car work, and may not work as a general purpose scope.
That tablet scope looks nice. I can get the current probe and a couple of Fuse Buddies, and a couple sets of probes and I'm in business. I have to think about it. Thanks.
You know what my idea of a scope is. Big, expensive, uses a lot of power. I didn't know this existed. Laboratory grade scopes cost at least as much as this, old and used.
