Pair 400W Plitron Tube Output Toroid Transformers

One pair of Special Design 400W Toroid Tube Output transformers.
These may be like the ones George of TubeLab.com uses as BFT in his BFA thread he:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/tubes-valves/133034-6l6gc-ab2-amp-14.html
See his remark a few posts down.
These are a wideband PP pair with a 1250 - 0,2,4,8 or
2500 to 0,4,8,16 ohm output.
Enclosed in a spun aluminum black powder coated can, epoxied in with one mounting bolt to attach to a chassis.
Perfect condition, wrapper never even taken off.
Difficult to find this output power especially with such excellent
specifications.
These transformers are probably a prototype of the present PAT-4141-00
http://shop.plitron.com/specs/414100.pdf
-3db at 1W power 0.8Hz to 133Khz
Full power starting at 20Hz as specified on the label. 400W/20Hz
I have had my fun and these will do well with a pair of 6528's,
3 pair of KT120's, 4 pair of KT-88's, or 5 pair of EL-34's.
These are $800 USD the pair new, $449 on ebay right now.
Free shipping to lower 48.

Did you buy these during the sale when they were super affordable, like Tubelab did or did you pay $800 for them?
I could maybe give an offer you might like if you paid the cheap price. Unfortunately, I cant afford the $800 per pair at the moment.
Will they fit an USPS Medium Flat Rate priority Mail Box?

These have PAT 10494-00 200838

Not sure what the difference is if any. I would like you to have them George, and thanks for all of the informative articles and contributions you have made to the audio community.
My concern would be in shipping to you. Any suggestions? PM me if you wish.

Thanks for the business. I'll have them shipped quickly and I'll be interested in your opinion. I like toroids and would like to see them used more often. There are people that have never even tried them that spread misinformation about toroids being SO sensitive to being unbalanced, and without bass. They are really great outputs.

I sent you an email......read it, it says don't send them right away......I won't be here.

The transformers I have are a bit different from yours, although I suspect they have the same guts.

misinformation about toroids being SO sensitive to being unbalanced, and without bass

Without bass????? I have seen over 500 watts flow through mine at 20 Hz in a real tube amp. I measured the upper 3 db point at 200 watts to be around 70 KHz in the same amp.

They however ARE more sensitive to DC imbalance than a conventional OPT if you are trying to get big output power at low frequencies. Some saturation effects can be seen a 100 watts and 20 Hz with 10 to 20 mA of imbalance.

I'll be interested in your opinion.

It might be a while. I moved into my new house 4 months ago and Tubelab is literally starting over. We left Florida in a hurry, laving behind all the workbenches, and a lot of stuff. Prior to the exit I had been selling, giving away, or scrapping most of my 50 year collection of stuff. In Florida I had a 10 X 10 foot room for building, experimenting, and listening to my creations. Here I have 25 X 40 feet of unfinished empty basement. I have to build everything from scratch again. One workbench is nearly finished, and another is started. I have a ways to go before I will be back to where I was about a year ago....... I haven't found my big Plitrons yet. They're I one of many boxes...one of the heavy ones.
