Hi DIY'ers,

I'm looking for a PCB manufacturer within the EU who can make low No. orders and also if possible with copper thicknesses of 105 um or thicker. PCB sizes are small - no more than 6*10 centimeters. Teflon boards are also interesting for a future design (but not needed now).

They need be environmentally conscious and also not too expensive.

Any of you know of such a manufacturer?

Insights appreciated ;-)

Wurth in Germany do most of our boards at work, I dont know about 105um, but they certainally do the usual 1/2/4 ounce thicknesses.

Note that fine pitch will clearly be impossible at that thickness, and if this is for heat, you may do better to go with one of the metal backed PCBs with a thin substrate.

This is going to be sufficiently different that you will end up paying through the nose for it, especially in small quantities.

Regards, Dan.

Hi all,

& thanks for your replies. However, I've just today learned that there are many threads on the internet on how to home-make PCBs in very good quality (with small tracks) and since I would prefer very thick copper layers (which is quite expensive to have made) the home made way is the way to go for me.

But thanks for your replies nevertheless, I appreciate you took the time to help out ;-) - if any of you are interested in some links to home-made pcbs I can post them.

Best regards,

Jesper

Hey ...

Thanks for replying Rephil ;-) I've taken a look at the link but can't find any boards that go beyond 70 um ... Might I be missing something?

@AndrewT: Hmmm... would be interesting to make the boards myself.... If you look at this link:

Mega-UK - PCB Laminates

top part table there's a specification of the dielectric constant something which - in my experience is quite audible. Teflon e.g. is much lower & air is ~ 1. I considered this yesterday but I don't (yet?) know how to glue a copper sheet onto a suitable substrate - which can sustain the etching process. Also the glue should be a low dielectric constant value since it's directly attached to the copper (and environmentally sustainable in my universe). Any suggestions?

Greetings to you both ;-)

Hi again,

Anybody interested in making their own boards, i.e. finding/buying the laminate, the glue & the copper/silver to mount on the laminate? Could be teflon laminate (or something completely different) & a suitable glue and thick (0.2 or 0.4 mm) copper/silver.

Any interest? I think it's possible if there's e.g. a collaboration on finding the materials...

Greetings,

Jesper
