If the amp only shuts down when it's driven to relatively high volume, you need to confirm that you have sufficient power supply voltage.

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter probe on the ground terminal of the amp (not on the point where the ground wire connected to the vehicle), the red probe on the B+ terminal of the amp and the amp driven to the point where it shuts down, does the voltage drop below ~11v?

Was this on a long bass note or a short note?

If it was a short note, it may have dropped even lower but the meter may not have been fast enough to read the dip in voltage.

You should try to determine why the voltage is dropping that low in the vehicle. Begin by measuring the voltage at the battery to see if the alternator is able to maintain sufficient voltage. If it can check the wiring, fuses and all connections to see where the voltage is being lost.

i went and check the truck the voltage is 12.2 off and 13.0 running i got a little 400w
and and hooked it up the volts dropped to 10v before it cut off i guess thats what mess the amp up.i hooked it up in another car and it does the same thing

i got the part for amp this is the out put from the 494
