Anyone know any software that let you generate phase checking impulte that you can same in wav and also have the software check the resulting sound with a mic to ensure all the speaker are in phase?
Thanks in advance,

the correct term would be polarity checker, just to see if your+ and - are correct...
but in the real world for sound quality this instrument is useless, because more times than not, some speakers have to be wired out of phase, to avoid cancellation, in car...
when checking subs, the volume has to be pretty high for it to work..and the receiving unit has to be extremely close.
the unit works by inserting a cd with a steady pulsed tone, its then picked up by a condensor mic...after that i dont know what happens.
i just use a song with strong midbass, and the feeling i get in my chest to check phase, unless its a tweeter.
google navone polarity/phase checker.

I do know that to be sure that + is + is meaningless =).
I know that the correct term is phase checker because I was using one when I was doing some sound checking during touring, but I do not have this device anymore and did not wanted to spend 200$ for a hardware version when I know that this can be done easily in software =) I'm pretty sure that this must exist somewhere in a software form where I will be able to use my latptop, M-Audio Firewire solo and position one at a time a mic beside each speaker to ensure that their are acoustically in phase.
let me know if you pass by a software that do that.
I did try googled it but was unsuccessful so far. That why I tried to post here in case I was more lucky =)

If you can get your hands on the Elektor book Build Your Own High-End Audio Equipment, there's plans with PC board layouts for a phase-checker transmitter/receiver pair. Quite cheap to build. The plans must have appeared in Elektor magazine, if you have access to back issues.
On the other hand, it shouldn't be hard to generate a CD full of test pulses using something like Audacity or Cool Edit, and use a laptop with some oscilloscope software to display what a mic picks up.
Searching reveals that it was in Elektor issue #11 1990, at least in Sweden. Public or college libraries could have back issues of Elektor, or they may be able to obtain photocopies from some mysterious repository of old periodicals known only to a secretive cabal of librarians.

Thanks, I already have the schematic for this project, but as lazy as I am, I wanted to only use my laptop and a mic to perform this check without needing to make a hardware version of it. I was sure that this can be easily done in software, but as of today, I did not find a software that was replacing theses devices
🙁
Ah well, you like I will need to play a little bit in eagle to make the pcb's for them....
Unless someone know a software that can get the job done 🙂
Thanks for your help.

Seeking circuit for speaker phase checker
Help Help,
I am seeking a schematic or the article to build a phase checker.
If anyone could send me a copy that would be great
thanks

I use a 1.5V AA-size battery to double check the polarity of speakers I'm installing. Just put the battery across the speaker wires (without being hooked up to any amplifier yet!) and watch the cone move. If it moves outwards first, it is in phase... if it sucks in first, it's out of phase. You only need to tap it on and off a couple times, don't leave it connected. ;D
