My sx 1010 went silent a few weeks back. I am a relative novice i'm afraid but i have been through what I can fairly thoroughly. The problem is that it does not come out of protection (no sound at all). However, at the same time the push switch that controls the dimmer function only allows the lighting to go on at all when in the 'dim' position . the lights are dark when the button is out (the incandescent lights are off completely when the button is in the 'normal' out position). Fuses are fine. I started with the DBT which seemed OK. I have checked all the voltages I can on the various boards (power amp, supply, muting circuit, equalizer) and they seem fine. The alignment on the power amps seem fine as well. There is 34v at each end terminal of the protection relay. I did have to replace the reed relay/muting board as the reed relay was making all kinds of noise. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone? thanks in advance...
