Go do your homework bud.Is there a typo in your price?
Just asking.
Go do your homework bud.
Homework? You mean like the last one in ‘perfect’ condition selling on eBay for $1500 or do you mean the eBay average for sold listing which is just over 4K? Perhaps your talking about reputation, someone with no or poor feedback could never hope to realize such a price on eBay…didnt you just join diyaudio and this is the only thread you’ve posted on?
This is a vntage collectable, the biggest receiver Pioneer made during the Japanese spec race. It will not be evaliated on its sonic quality.
The asking price is riduculaous based on sonic quality, but vintage values tend to far exceed sonic value.
Today the tuner part is not going to be much use, sonically, ACP+ and a pair of ACAs will blow it out of the water (assuming a reaosnable loudspeaker).
I think the price is a reach, but as vintage he might get it.

For 5800$, I'd buy another BMW but that's just me.

I am thinking of putting up my SIT-3 for sale. $4500CAD is perhaps steep, but which would you buy?
(i wouldn’t buy a BMW thou).

5800 is a bit high but I can see him getting it if the 1980 has been recapped and contacts cleaned.
