Agreed to look at a friend's amplifier. That should just be replaced. But anyway I removed all the power supply irfb3607's but this amp looks someone has worked on it. Used leaded soder which led to it to failer. Are these the OEM mosfets for this amp. Or can I just use 3205's despite the 55v 70v difference?
3205s with 47 ohm gate resistors will be OK.
You should know that these amps have a HUGE number of problems. Without a lot of work, they won't be reliable. They have virtually every problem on the class D - Type 2 page.

oh god, well i had a decent drive signal, removed rectifiers, installed all new gate resistors, installed the 3205's, just got a clicking sound like its jumping in and out of protection, instantly checked for soder bridges, nothing. The output stage had failed as well one output wa broken off at the board, and shorted? i dont think the cost is worth the time
It is for a Friend, (Who should buy a rockford) Any suggestions on outputs perry or stick to was in it. The Irfb30N20
Use the OEM part number IRFB31N20D from a REPUTABLE distributor (NOT ebay).
If you don't build supplemental supports for the board, it will continue to break the legs of the heatsink mounted components.

Never buy semiconductors from EBay, That was a great paragraph by the way perry. ok will do. So removed the failed outputs and rectifiers, with only the power supply it didnt run. all new gates 47ohm, new 10K to pull the gate down, all the diodes test good. there is a row of 22J100 capacitors that are semi melted. that in curcuit my fluke woulnt read Capacitance on? i did have the board powered up and had a ok gate signal>?
If the PS driver IC isn't producing output, post the DC voltage on all of it's terminals and the LM393 next to it.
I already removed it perry, do you thing the mje340 and mje350 will be better driver transistors for this amp?
i couldnt get any good readings the chip is failed and the as i touch the legs the voltages vary.
I lost remote somehow on the last stat to est the i/c. I have been testing and checking components all day and cant seem to find any that are out of tolerence or open? Any idea on what i should check.. i have the new ic.
There's no reason for the driver IC to fail unless, possibly if you short adjacent terminals with the probe.
Did you install the new IC?
Did you install the new IC?
Same ic I was using perry. The original ic was failed. As soon as I installed this one the amp powered up and everything looked good, then small puff of smoke and the amp shut off. I was watching the current not board, so I didn't see where it came from. It will not turn on now
If you can't find the fault, post the DC voltage on all pins of the driver IC.
Check ALL heatsink mounted components for broken legs. In some of these amps, virtually every group of parts has a few with broken legs.

I tested it and it was open yesterday so I pulled it and got the 2ohms and put it back in. But now in the curcuit it's testing open..?
I'm going to replace it and see what happens. Thanks perry. Very unlikely I have that value in stock. Maybe I'll find one.
