I am trying to place a printed text on a front panel in Front Panel Express. I select Insert|Text Engraving and in the dialog box select "Always print this element". But I keep getting an error message: "Error, printing on this material is not possible. Please select a printable material or choose another option for engraving mode".
I tried selecting different materials, alu, perspex, with/without coating, for the panel but the error stays.
What am I doing wrong?

Two weeks ago, I’ve made panels for a project using the european version of front panel express downloaded on Schaeffer website. Current version is 6.35.
I cannot find the option "Always print this element" you mention. I my understanding, but I may be wrong, the Text tool is dedicated to graving. Graving has an option: ‘printing/painting’ which is intended to colorize the engraved area, not to print graphic or fonts.
If you want to print something, you have to import a graphic file, which could be bitmap but also .pdf. I usually prepare this bitmap file at scale in PowerPoint the produce a .pdf that I send separately of the .dxf to Modushop. If you want to order from Schaeffer or Front Panel Express I guess you have to import the bitmap in the Front Panel Express project.

Thanks for the reply! In the meantime I found the issue: I had both engraving-with-fill and trying to print text on the same panel.
When I removed the engraving, I could actually select Print Engraving which apparently doesn't actually engrave but just print the text.
Your reply got me thinking ;-)
