Project: Cambridge Audio PM01 (phono stage for A1)

I have recently bought a Cambridge Audio A1 mk3 SE. My system consists of this, a Rega RP1 and some Wharfedale Diamond 9.1s. The amp doesn't have the phono stage card installed and they seem to be impossible to find.

I have checked the schematic on hifiengine and inside the box and it seems that it should be possible to design an build a phono stage to fit in the spot where the PM01 should go. Looking at the schematic I have decided the V2 connections seem most sensible (though they are pretty much interchangeable).

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Here we see the power and ground at the bottom (+-28V) and signal at the top. Also there is a securing screw hole at the top.

I was going to base my design on this one. - DIY Phono Preamp : Recording Magazine -. Has anyone built a phono stage like this, any changes they recommend?

I want it to be reasonable quality (it's a cheap amp, let's not go crazy), easy to build and reliable.

The Real One

Attached please find some views of original PM-01. Circuit diagram is very similar (from A3i amp). Regards
