Ok well this store was going to sell me the focal PS 165 component set but only had the woofers. They took the tweeters and crossovers from the polyglass 130 vr. Now the PS set handles up to 80 Watts rms while the vr 130 only does 50 Watts rms, do you think this set would be good and work? If so what rms should I be looking to power these at
How loud do you want to play them, how far is your seating position from the speakers, how sensitive are the speakers, what level of distortion are you prepared to accept at maximum volume.
How long do you want to listen to them at maximum power and what sort of music do you listen to, for example Metalicas black album has some tracks that generate more heat than a 1/8 power pink noise test!
With all this data someone with lots of patience and the ability to manipulate the equations someone may be able to work out some kind answer.
Without you will need to make some value judgements. Probably you need to rate your amp for the minimum power speaker you are using, then accept the undistorted output level is all you can have with that set up. If you run it significantly into clipping you will probably damage the tweeters.

Andrew

mikex216 is right in asking this question. Unless this design was verified by a pro it might not work. First the crossover has a 0/-3db/-6db set what is good, you can adjust for less sensitivity midwoofer, what is or might not be the case, new Focal PS165 is 92.5db. Then the crossover at 4KHz from the new Focal Polyglass 130 VR should (or not, I don't know) work well with both drivers (midwoofers) if you want to use it with either one (with matched output, phase, impedance). If only small differences between drivers then you can adjust in more or less tweeter output what must be the case.

The output from the amp plays a small role under this scenario (50W/80W or 100W).
