Im pretty new to hifi stuff. Within the last few weeks Ive put together my first system comprised of jbl stage a130s, ran by a niles si-275, fed by an aiyima t7 tube preamp. It sounds great. Ive never experienced music actually placing instruments or any of that magic until this system. Ive done a bit of tinkering as well. I replaced the op amps in the aiyima with a slightly cleaner lm4562 and gave it a meanwell power supply. Today I went ahead and replaced the power caps and 2 of the filter caps in my si-275, due to age and a bit of puffing. I can honestly say that none of this made any change to the way the system sounds, but its nice to know that maybe ive taken care of some potential for noise and reliability issues in the future.
Anyway, I just wanted to share in case there are any other new guys out there trying to get some ideas or motivation for their project

No, I contacted Niles asking for the schematic, and they told me to go buy a new amp. I had zero luck at all finding one
Where did you source your caps for the Niles? Did you use the same value caps or did you upgrade them in value. I've been thinking of upgrading the values in my SI-275. I'm also having some noise issues with very faint noise/hiss being heard through the speakers, even at the lowest set volume level. I'm about to try to do something with the layout of my desktop system's power and signal cables to try to mitigate noise. My next steps are to try a star-ground mod to see if that works for the noise. Any thoughts on the caps and noise?Im pretty new to hifi stuff. I got the caps from digikey. I just went with stock values, the si-275 already has pretty large caps for the wattage it puts out. I only replaced the 10k uf caps, i didnt do any of the other caps. In my case, the amp tested the same dc voltage on output before and after. The caps had zero effect on noise. Ive noticed that one channel is noisier than the other due to the layout of the board. That makes me wonder if shielding the power supply would make the largest difference in noise. All of the amps wiring could be unplugged and twisted which may help as well, although I didnt try it on mine
