I have a REL QBass subwoofer that is close to me that I would like to change the driver
I have been reading online and the ones people are replacing them with are the peerless or visaton
I have contacted BK and was told the visaton seems good. Seems like this is the original driver but I was hoping maybe to find something better
I done some research and found
Soundlab L042P, 12 Inch 200W 8 Ohm
I was told that the surround / edge is paper and is not good for a subwoofer
If someone can advise on this please
They are used in some subwoofers that some have mentioned online
The specs seem relatively same to the visaton and peerless
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these drivers and if these would be a good replacement

Neither of the drivers you have found are subwoofers. They are budget woofers that don't respond particularly well to very low frequencies. They will not perform as well as the original driver.

If I g o higher in price I dont seem to be getting a better driver and becomes not so cost effective
I read that the following is a good replacement and sounds as good if not better as the original and has been recommended By BK

"Frequency response 50Hz to 4Khz" highlights the problem. A 12" inch sub really needs to go down to 30Hz.
BK have said other customers have had a great success with LS04691

You seem not to understand specifications. You realise 20Hz is lower than 50hz, right?
A driver that cannot respond to frequencies below 50Hz cannot be classed as a sub-woofer.
A driver that cannot respond to frequencies below 50Hz cannot be classed as a sub-woofer.
