I purchased a Paradigm PW2200 through eBay quite some time ago. Thanks to UPS dropping the darn thing (looked like they dropped it off the dock, outa the truck and possibly from an airplane), it arrived with a tweaked VC. The new driver from Paradigm is around $450 which I don't want to spend.
I'm looking for a replacement with deep low end (fs=24-28), that's good and tight, that will fit back in the 12" hole left by the last driver in a 2.75cf ported box.
I've looked at the Titanic, Pierce Audio, and a couple of others, but want to make sure I'm getting something good for a home system....not a car....
Any suggestions????

Ouch !! That sucks. Finding a drop-in replacement will be tricky to say the least. Paradigm designed the driver and amp to work together in that exact enclosure.
The amplifier provides about 8db of boost at 24hz with a very high Q value (8 - 10). Normal logic dictates driver movement will increase rapidly below tuning so how they tuned to the box to 27hz and give massive boost at 24hz without torching the driver is a mystery to me. I tested the amp at low output levels only, there may be a circuit which changes the boost level when power output reaches a certain point.
I measured the driver T/S specs, I can't promise they are 100% but they seem reasonable. Xmax is unknown but my guess is around 11mm.

From the few drivers I looked at the series II 12" from Parts Express looks like it might be workable but its lacking in the xmax dept. Peerless has a couple new 12" subs in their XXL series which might also work. Thing to remember is to stick with an 8ohm driver to prevent damage to the amp.

Thanks Lord Darkhelmet... I was able to hook up (via eBay strangely enough) with "the man" at Pierce Audio Products, they make the WMD's for car audio applications. He had a 12" name unknown home woofer that I ended up getting... it fit and, crossed over at 50hz, absolutely lays down some tight low end. I do however have to keep the power turned up as it consumes every watt of the 250 watts coming from the Paradigm amp... anyway thanks for the response, you were quite helpful.
Has paradigm upgraded in quality? I've got an older 10" 100w RMS model active sub (1999 ish?) which I find to be slightly enemic in output... and the port chuffs a lot at higher output levels
