Revel B12 subwoofers with dead amps...

Hi all,

So I picked up a pair of Revel B12 from a friend for very cheap due to them having dead amps and him having new subs now. These are 10" subs (don't ask why they are called B12) LOL.

Anyway took them apart and ya, amps are toast for sure (I mean boards went up in smoke in a big way) but drivers appear to be fully intact and sound fine. They are 4 ohm DC resistance so I guess that makes them closer to 6 ohm impedance?

Anyway will build my own cabinets and use a 150WPC Ramsa Pro amp to drive them and cross it over with an external crossover. They wont work very hard as I want them to cover the very last bit that my new speaker build wont be covering (Peerless 6" and Seas tweeter). So say 45Hz and down.

I just wanted to share though the surprising heft of the 10" drivers that came out of the things! They weight almost 30lbs a piece and have a 3" VC.
