Does the Rockford Fosgate a series produced from 1999-2000 use top quality parts (mosfets, transistors, etc) in the Power and Punch series models? Are the circuit boards durable and military spec boards? Are these well made amps?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
Most definitely. Actually my favorites. I have dozens. Actually, I have amplifiers from every series made by Fosgate and these are the ones I choose for my own installation. Every bit as good if not tougher than the previous DSM series and no difference between the .2 and a2, etc. style, other than the way they were rated. While I don't recommend it, I have seen many of these amplfiers run at 2 and 1 ohms bridged. without smoking. Again, I still don't recommend it, but you see the credit I give them for being tough. Very clean circuitry. All the good parts......V
Thank you for the feedback. I have been a little paranoid since swapping out the 2007 RF T power series amps in my vehicles for the Power BD1000a1 and Power 400a4 in my 4-Runner and Power BD1000a1 and Punch 200a4 in my 300zx. People always say that the newer stuff is better which it may or may not be but my ears don't lie. The only reason why I won't take out my a series any time soon is that 1 of the Power BD1000a1 was brand new, the other was in mint condition and I bought 3 Power 400a4 amps from the original owner and they are mint and the punch 200a4 was mint. Quite honestly I love those amps. Anything between 1996-2000 is my series. However, I am not knocking the new stuff.
They are awesome amps to use for bass I have the a series and the .2 series and punch 100z2. The internals look tuff with all those big capacitors. As a matter of fact my first Rockford amp was a punch 400a4 that ran my whole with ease. My 225 pounds subs hard, I tried a power hx2 12 and the bass was unbelievable.
