Amp powers up with only positive and negative wires hooked up .

Any ideas on where to start looking ?

Does the remote terminal read 0v?

Remote terminal reads 12.14 volts

Do you read a short between 12v and remote?

Yes 0.04 ohms

Could there be a strand of wire under the terminal block?

My meter was acting up .
Replaced batteries and here is what I get now .

With just power and ground hooked up the amp powers up and plays I get 12.16 volts on the remote terminal of the amp .

Between power and remote terminals I get 10 mega ohms .

Any ideas on where to go from here

Does it have signal sensiing (I think it does)?

If so, something may be triggering it. Does it come on and remain on (leave for 10 minuteS) with nothing plugged into the RCAs?

I don’t see a switch or anything for signal sensing on the amp .

It remains on still after 15 mins of sitting nothing plugged into rcas

From the manual:
NOTE: When utilizing high-level for input signal the auto turn-on feature
is active. With the auto turn-on active, the REM becomes an output to turn
on/off up to two additional amplifiers or other accessories.

How do I turn it off or is something in the amp defective causing it to come on

I think (I have no solid evidence) that something is defective.

In some amps, the DC from the head unit's internal amplifier trigger the turn on circuit with the DC on the speaker level signal.
