I will be running my charging system at 15.5 volts for the audio system .
The battery and alternator are totally isolated from the 12 volt system .
Wondering if I can connect the power wire from the symmetry to the 15.5 volt system ?
I connected it the first time to the 15.5 system and smoked the power supply in the symmetry just wondering if it was a fluke

What failed in the power supply at 15.5v?
Is the battery voltage 16v?
What's the charging voltage?
PC#?

The charging voltage is at 15.5 volts .
The battery voltage is 15.5
A diode the fuse and 1 fet blew in the power supply . I will have to look at the schematic to give board locations . And the unit is mounted back in the vehicle so can’t get a pc #

That's not a PS FET in regards to regular switching supplies. It's just a power switch for the remote circuit.
D2 is a diode between grounds and likely only to fail if a mistake is made during the installation.
The circuit looks like it could withstand 16v easily.

Just wondering -- why 15,5V? If it's lead-acid and sealed it will run pretty hot. Not sealed and you'll be replenishing electrolyte fairly regularly.
Just my 2¢ . .
