Rotel -1052

Does anyone have experience with Rotel-1052 issues?

Is it worth risking $150 to buy this amp for a diy repair project, or is it better used as a paper weight? I am led to believe that replacement parts are costly.

Any advice, opinions or thoughts would be appreciated.

I can't see any reference to any 1052 model power amplifier but there is an RX-1052 AV receiver, an RA-1062 integrated and an RB-1050 basic power amp. The receiver is only 10 years or so old and if working, would be a good, average quality HT amp. It is not iun the same class as the audio only models though

If it is one of the stereo models and needs repair though, it could be more difficult than you might hope if you haven't repaired a commercial amp before. Still, you can substitute those output devices in most of those models if needed as you won't find the obsolete genuine Sanyo types 2SD1047/B817 any more and reputable, complementary copies are not guaranteed. They are not special types for the period though and genuine parts for most other semis should be easy enough to locate or substitute with genuine or better equivalents, should they need it.

Promotional blurb tells us the RB 1050 amplifier at least, is bulletproof and audiophile quality. Can't really comment on Home theatre (AV) amps as I don't use them.
