Hi thanks for allowing me to join this group.
My system has been working flawlessly for years but today I noticed the main amp was still powering the main speakers with the blue off , power ring button released !
Still sounds great but would appear to be permanently active .

Welcome to diyAudio 🙂
If that switch is a conventional mechanical type that switches the mains directly then it looks to have failed with the contacts perhaps 'welded' together. If it is a low current switch that indirectly operates other circuitry to put the amp into a standby condition then the problem could be elsewhere.
I'm guessing it could be the later but you would need to study the circuit diagrams to see what and how the switch operates.

Thanks as you can appreciate it’s a bit of a job getting it out and looked at
Thank you for your thoughts
Thank you for your thoughts
I will phone Rotel on Monday morning and see if they can sell me the switch and hopefully I’ll just be able to fix it myself. I fingers crossed. thanks a lot.
@Ell
You need to provide the exact Model number for your power-amp.
The thing you´ve shown is an IEC inlet, not a switch, and J-2 is a plug on the PCB...... Not a switch.
There´s most probably a softstart circuit with a mains swithing relay somewhere inside, Most certainly welded contacts on the relay.
The reason I ask for the proper model number (letters AND numbers) is, that all I can find with "1060" is RA-1060
which is an integrated amp. Picture shows 3 amps of the RB-kind. 😉

I think you might be wrong here.According to the schematic, J2 is a conventional switch, so I think this will be your problem.

Sure??Ok my mistake
It’s a rb1560 !
Nothing found on web.
Even Rotel´s support webside does not list an amp with that model number.
