Selenium D220Ti - How low do you go?

Howdy all! Just wanted to see what other folks might be doing with d220ti compression drivers. I have them on Dayton 10" round waveguides for the moment, but I'm curious to know what waveguides people have tried with them, and how low they can be pushed, assuming active crossovers and fairly steep slopes.

So, how low do we think they can go safely?

have been using 1.3khz LR12 on this waveguide for years, works pretty good.
preferably active so you can switch to 24db at loud volumes just in case.

It's pretty much a standard econowave then, I guess?

I'm angling to see if anyone's done a successful design with a 15"+that tweeter with an "as yet un-named" waveguide.

Right now I'm thinking that's going to lead to a hole in directivity, because I can't push that tweeter low enough on a big enough waveguide..I'm hoping that I'm wrong.

Thanks fellas.

Essentially what I'm trying to do is figure out if I can make a semi-clone of the JBL 3677, but with a different waveguide, something kinda half-way between a 4pi Four and Econowave, but using a 15" driver.

From the looks of it, I'm going to need different hf units.

I purchased the emerald physics cs3 and that tweeter is crossed at 900hz 3rd order in the eminence coaxial 12" driver.
seems to do just fine.
I was suprised it could, I'm going to tri-amp these speakers soon and take measuments.
the passive x-over looks like a real mess in these speakers.
I'll post a photo, hold on.......

Both the compression driver and the woofer will have a beamwidth of about 120 degrees at the frequency. However, the tweeter has no radiation to the rear while the woofer has, which can sound weird. Power handling is not a concern as these are hi-fi loudspeakers, limited in SPL by the dipole woofers.

what? a coax has a hard time support anything much lower than 2k. wild on-axis spl variation is guaranteed, polars will be nasty and wont match with the woofer in a million years.
power handling is definitly a concern, iv broken 3 pairs of d220 diaphragms with steeper slopes than this.
