Hi all.
Bought this - got it from another town.
My friend did some basic sound-check testing once this was collected - got sound from both channels.
Im not going to fire it up again till the death diodes (ad possibly the trimmers also) are replaced.
Finally got it home. I note that the 2SJ18's look different - plus they have different batch numbers. One is "J 52" and the other is "JG 25".
How critical is this? Can I assume that as Im getting sound, that things are good?
If there is only one of each type of VFET in each channel for this amp (ie: like this TA-4650) then this may not be an issue?
Yes the heatsink compound is also messy as hell - I will tidy all this up when I do the recon.
Obviously swapping parts nowadays to get the exact same grade will be kind of, impossible.....
