Hello everyone.. this is my first post and I wish it could be a contribution rather than a request for help.
I've installed an old SoundBlaster Live! Pro sound card into my system and was wondering if there was a way to connect it to the front panel thing.
The front panel thing is currently connected to my motherboard's on-board audio thing. (2 rows of 5 pins) Does the SoundBlaster have somewhere I can connect these pins to? I just need Mic and Headphones... it's not necessary but it'd be nice to have access to this from the front of my computer.

I used to have this 'thing' and I recall a big ribbon cable attached from the bay to the card. Then, several wires from the cards output to the bay. MIC, Line...

I have the sound card connect to a PCI slot. The "front thing" has a cable coming out of it that currently connects to the motherboard's onboard audio "port." I'd like to take it out from this port, and plug it in somewhere to the sound card... I just don't know where or if it is even possible.

I referred to what is called the Live! Drive IR in the manual.
Perhaps we are talking about different sound cards. In that case,
look for the correct manual on the SB-site and post the link.

Hugo sort of answered your question, but not quite.
I scanned through a couple of manuals on the creative website for the SBLive card, and it didn't quite give enough information. Take a look at your card. Does it have what may be called the MB_PRO connector on it? This would be a set of pins configured in the same 5x2 pattern as the motherboard. If so, I think that's what you want to connect to. Otherwise, you're probably looking at trying to reverse engineer the connector at the back edge of the card.
To Hugo, he doesn't have the front bay doo-hickey, he's got a case that has audio connectors built into the front panel. So he needs some way to connect this to his soundcard.

Most variants of the SBLive have a "MB PRO" connector on them, which should be the same as the connector on your motherboard, that the front panel thing is connecting to currently. It is a 2x5 connector with only 9 pins. It is number 8 on this picture, which I unabashedly ripped from Live! Center (your card may have a different layout:

The MB_PRO connector is what I'm looking for.
However, it seems I don't have the Pro version, or something. I have the SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 This doesn't appear to have the connector, so i guess I'm just SOL. 🙁
