Are there commercial sources for this? I know (at least years ago) big big woofers sometimes had rectangular cross section wire in the voice coil. Can you actually BUY this stuff? Many thanks.

"Goto Japan offers square wire voice coils and provides square wire to other coil winders."

I watched a YouTube video from ATC, where they flatten their VC wire through rollers. It begins life as normal round wire. Maybe Precision Econowind can help you out? They can wind a coil for you, I am sure.
MWS sells it, but they have insane MOQ's.
Bridgeport Magnetics is who I buy mine from, their minimum is 10# spools. They also have 1:2 up to 1:4 ratio.
